Sit Stand Stretch collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no server of ours to send anything to. This page says what that means in practice, for the web app and for the Mac app.
What the web app stores
Everything you configure — your profiles, phases and their lengths, checklists, the day's
totals and up to thirty days of history — is stored in your browser's localStorage under a
single key, sit-stand-stretch:v1, on the machine you are using. If a saved copy
ever turns out to be unreadable, it is kept beside the live one under
sit-stand-stretch:v1:corrupt rather than discarded. It is plain text. It never
leaves the browser, and it is not shared between your devices because there is nothing to
share it through.
To delete it, clear the site's data in your browser, or clear your browsing data for this site. There is nothing to delete anywhere else.
What the web app sends
Nothing. While the page runs it makes no network requests at all: no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no fonts or scripts from other servers. The two typefaces are served from the same address as the page. There are no cookies. If you allow desktop notifications, that permission is stored by your browser, not by us, and the notifications are produced on your machine.
Hosting
The site is served by GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub may record technical details of requests, such as IP addresses, in its server logs. We do not have access to those logs. GitHub describes what it collects in the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
The Mac app
Sit Stand Stretch for Mac stores the same data in a file inside its own application container on your Mac, and nowhere else. It makes no network requests of its own and contains no analytics or crash-reporting libraries.
The optional one-time purchase, Plus, is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple processes the payment and holds your purchase record; we receive no name, email address or payment details from it. Apple's handling of that data is described in Apple's privacy policy. Importing your data from the web app is a file you choose yourself; the file is read on your Mac and is not uploaded anywhere.
Children
The app is a desk timer for anyone who sits at a desk. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
